“Around the Valley” brings together three symbols of the Scottish Highlands — the majestic stag, the watchful red squirrel, and the sweeping moody landscape they call home. The composition is anchored by an incomplete, dripped circular brushstroke that frames the valley at its centre. At opposite ends of this circle, the stag and squirrel face one another, creating a quiet dialogue between strength and fragility, wilderness and wonder.
